  • Corporate Relationship Manager / Corporate Account Manager / Contracts Officer

    My role as a Corporate Relationship Manager within Garanti BBVA implied facilitating good business relationships between the bank and its corporate clients, in order to maximize the value of those relationships and mutual benefits as well as maintain customer satisfaction.

    In addition to communication and problem solving skills, working here has allowed me to develop strong analytical skills which helped form a deep understanding of the bank’s products, the markets in which my clients activated, and broader industry trends.

    Responsibilities
    • Managing a portfolio of approximately 100 corporate accounts, across an international spectrum, with a total exposure of more than EUR 75 million;

    • Actively working to meet KPIs related to: (1) cash credit exposure, (2) non-cash exposure (letters of guarantee, letters of credit), (3) deposits, and (4) banking service commissions as well as non-cash commissions

    • Developed a major analysis on the organizational culture of the Romanian branch of Billa (a major European supermarket chain), resulting in an extensive report, actionable recommendations as well as a presentation which I showcased to the company’s CEO.

    • In charge of researching and selecting companies with Austrian capital, engaging the directors/CEOs of these companies and underlining the benefits of participating in the first employee development network for Austrian companies in Romania. This meant identifying the common training needs for all the companies involved and negotiating bespoke offers in their name at discounted costs with accredited training providers.

    Ministry of Foreign Affairs Romania (Dec 2013 - May 2014)

    Interned full time with a flexible work arrangement allowing me to continue attending my masters’ courses. I got a chance to experience the issues facing Romanians in neighboring countries and around the world, such as discrimination, racism, financing Romanian businesses located outside the borders, the dissipation of Romanian identity elements (language, traditions), as well as organizing elections in Romanian communities.

    • I compiled reports and recommendations which were then used to assess problems and influence institutional response and policy.

    • The discipline, structure and process characteristic of a large and important state institution helped me develop more rigor in my work, as well as becoming more proactive and structurally organized.
